They tend to be cheaper than pines but I prefer pines

thats a point - I'd possibly steer towards a Chinese Juniper - they will give you more hands on work and easy to care for

yes good one didnt even think of that, i dont have enough junipers :1crybaby: well only one scale juniper like a chinese one..
my others are needle juni's

but if your man is after a pine, that my be a decision already made! any way you should be able to get something good for <100.

Well thanks for your advise and interest ...... again! :30clap2: Japanese pines seem hard to come by of a decent size and at this sort of price range, so I thought I was doing OK with the ones on offer and shown in the picture.
Corin, if you have something better in the same price range I would be very interested to have a look. Please post some pics or point me in the right direction on the website.
I've got a Chinese Juniper. Actually, I've just spent an hour easing all of my trees out of their pots and most of them need re-potting. I can see what people mean regarding Acadamia breaking down after a couple of years. I might be shopping for cat litter later at Tescos! By the way, what's the best tool or implement for combing out the old soil from around roots?
Cheers. :smallthumb:

Corin will have a bigger selection than what he has posted on his website! there is one on there for £65 but last time i was at greenwood they had quite a few of them in that price range.

Just checked. We currently have 13 of the ones at £65 including the one that was already on the website.
I have listed 5 more. You should be able to see all 6 at this link:
http://www.bonsai.co.uk/search.php?mode ... ice_max=66

They are smaller then the ones you were looking at. But they also cost £35 less.
