I have a chinese elm I had for my birthday last year and it is what started off the craze! It Isn't really pushing many buds at the moment although they are swelling, a few have opened but turned yellowy, the root ball is a solid mass and quite hard. I was wondering if i should repot now into pure S.P. or leve it this season? Will have pictures later of the extremely compact and rock hard root ball. Think a repot is in order? |

Soak the rootball first you may find it easier to deal with. |

Repotted now. It was an import tree and was horribly clay like. |

My bad :/ was my first tree and didn't want to repot first year. Buds starting to swell more but the odd few that did pop before I reported are now yellow. Guessing that's the lost rooys not supplying water? |
