Hi, does anyone have any tips on how to Anchor Wire or even better have some pictures of some plants which are anchored. Some of my main branches are pointing up when I would rather them be level, would Anchor Wiring be most effective? Thanks Justin |

I don't use anchor wiring - but bonsai grower Chris Guise does - here are some of his trees with anchors: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11475646@N ... 390779037/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/11475646@N ... 412408497/ |

I use anchor wires a lot especially on maples, as their branches tend to be brittle. At the end of the day use what suits you best. Many Japanese bonsai people use bamboo |

I use anchor wiring especially when i have some serious bending to put in place. Though the term wire i use rather freely as i also use fishing line as well when am looking for a lesser impact visually. look closely at the bottom picture of this tree and you will see the "wire" holding the branching back to the trunk. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=34 |

Treebeard wrote: Hello there, Justin. Ask away Chris. Hi Chris, Am interested to find out how old your Elm is in this picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/11475646@N ... 390779037/ I want to model my elm on your tree but your branches are thicker, I am thinking its because my tree is only 3-4 years. Or do you have any tips to thicken up the branches. Cheers Justin |
