Post subject:  tree/shrub ID

Most of my garden is gravel/hardlandscaping so I dont have much of a weed problem.
I do however get the odd tree/shrub spring up. These are pictures of two which I have allowed to grow.
One is in the gravel and is multi stem and the other which was potted up two years ago is a single trunk.
I believe they are of the same tree/shrub (maybe a form of cherry) Your help in identifying would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Tony

I dont think its cherry maybe willow. Have they self seeded there or growing up of roots from a close tree.

Ah! Willow is a good guess I think.

On first sight willow, on second glance plum seedling.
Leafs are similar to willow but the bark is more plum.

Have checked all the gardens surrounding my house. So far only a weeping willow which is completely different.
Maybe the birds have been transplanting from further afield!.

Will keep posting as they progress.

Did you eat peaches or apricots in your garden last year?

Maybe a bone germinated. The trunk looks a bit like apricot, but the leaves are too narrow. For a peach tree, the leaves are a bit too wide compared to the one I have in my garden, but I would vote for a species close to Prunus persica...
