Got this willow from a workmate and has been in the pot for a few years.
It needs repotting, when can I do it?
It also needs chopped back, do these backbud? and when best to chop the branches?
anyone any idea which type of willow it could be?

I was going to repot it today, then just pinch the tips of the branches to see if I can get any buds near the trunk and just leave it till next year to chop the branches but thought I,d better ask for advice first.. :Big Thumb:

It looks very much like my 'goat willow'. Haven't had mine quite long enough to know all about it, but I think they are quite tough and mine has put out a shoot from right at the point where the older part of the trunk leaves the soil, so I would bite the bullet.
It looks as though it would like to get out of that blue bowl! Just give it some TLC after (don't leave it to bake in the sun) and water it regularly.

These are tough little trees i am always hacking these down at all times of year and they grow back fast i wouldnt worry to much. I am going to collect one of these willows myself i think.

Thanks, I looked at google images and I think it is a goat willow Gwen.
I just realised that there are the same ones planted near my house that get cut down every year.
