Hi my azalea has not yet flowered I've read an article in bonsai4me and it says that satsuki should have flowered last month however I did do a repot at the beginning of spring reason for that is I found vine weevil in one of my trees and so I did the azalea could this be the reason why it has not flowered? (the tree still looks healthy and showing signs of growth)

It is probably trying to restore the damage of the vine weevil. So maybe it doesn't flower this season, don't panic, it will surprise you next year. There is a limited amount of energy in a potted tree, so if uses that to get stronger, it will not make flower buds.
Give it some ericaceous feed and you will see some regrowth and next year it might flower again.

If there are no flower buds it can't flower, obv. You have to wait till September/October for it to grow new buds.

Fyi, vine weevil larvae do the real damage.

I had the same thing happen to a satsuki I got back in February. All of my friend's azaleas went, and mine did nothing. I popped it out of the nursery pot that it was in and it was really rootbound, so I decided to do a repot today. It had been planted in pure kyodama so I just removed some off the bottom and took some pie cuts and put it into ceramic. Didn't have any critters save two centipede looking things and I didn't see any damage they had done.

Hopefully it flowers next year, I'd like to know what they look like.

I've just bought one which has buds showing but no flowers yet. A couple of years ago i bought one for the garden which has only just flowered even though it showed buds last year. ::dunno:

I have heard of too much shade inhibiting flower bud development. If there are flower buds and they are undamaged they should flower when they days get long and warm enough.

Frost and drought can destroy the buds though. But that's almost entirely a garden azalea problem.

Some flower later than others. But right now mine are all flowering. Recent weather is slowing everything down so they open way slower but should also last longer.

Mine is just coming into its full flush, lost one or two buds to frost but not many.
