The winds tonight are VERY gusty. Just looking at my 2 new Acers in the garden getting blasted by it and worried about wind burn.

Knowledge please...

Cheers MJ.

Make sure they don't dry out.

There's no harm in just bringing them into an unheated room over night until the wind subsides. It would be a shame if your new trees get wind bashed.

Strange for once we dont have any wind up here, normally Barrow in Furness is wind central, maybe thats why they've planted a multitude of wind turbines off the coast. I might be obsessive but this morning we had a lot of rain and it was dark, so before I went to work I chose my favourite trees and stuck them in the garage with the door open and plonked a U.V light in front of them. My girlfriend says I love the trees more than her, these comments hurt me :(

It seems my reply got lost between the phone and here. sigh. You appear to have it figured out now and are probably sleeping at this point... but... you really only have to worry about DRY winds, not sure if it's raining there or not but I thought I'd mention it for future reference.
