http://www.flickr.com/photos/97447884@N06/ the two most recent uploads (the on the left). Does anyone know what it is? I need to know so i can get a care sheet for it. Thanks. I know it need repotting, and pruning. Also, does anyone know how I can attach a tree to a slightly window-sill. I don't want it to fall. I have no garden to put my tree's in. |

My guess would be Serissa foetida (Tree of a thousand stars). Others may have another opinion though |

A very special tree this one. It has been specially bred with the bonsai keeper in mind. Carmona microphylla - designed to teach us what it is like to have a tree that is going to die! K (Re-edited to correct my spelling). |

Thanks mumra and splendidplumage. Kit, what do you mean by that? It's definitely going to die? |

Josh, I have had three of these. All died. It is this species that turned me off indoor bonsai. I really hope you are more successful than me as they have lovely little flowers and berries. Good luck K Another edit. Stylus trouble again. |

I like my Carmona - they have a reputation for being difficult to keep, but given the right conditions will do well. Right conditions being plenty of light, fairly constant temps not less than 50F, humidity. Fortnightly feed with liquid seaweed, standard dilution. Got mine last October, repotted into decent soil, lives happily on the bathroom windowsill. Loads of flowers, lots of recent new growth, I have three rooted hardwood cuttings growing on and another six green shoot cuttings in course. May have to buy a bigger windowsill... Dave |

Okay, thanks guys. I got it from Tesco, because I loved it's trunk. It has deadwood on it. It was only £10, and had a 12 month guarantee. My only thing is that if i keep it, and try to keep alive, it will need money spent on it. I'd love to keep it, but am now worried I won't be able to keep it alive, because if you guys have struggle, what chance do I have? And Dave, thanks for the info. I read online though that it should only receive 1 hour direct sunlight a day. How long would you say yours gets? Thanks again guys. Josh. |
