Hi all, I was wondering why we seem to have to lack of Shimpaku Junipers around the UK. I'm looking for a couple to experiment around with and on UK ebay there aren't any, but on the US ebay site there are loads! Is there a specific reason for this? Cheers |

I don't know of any reason other than the expense of importation. Last time I was at Greenwood I saw plenty. |

Milder regions make them easier to propagate, so they are produced there and not imported as in Europe. |

They seem to sell them in regular garden centres over there for use as landscaping plants. You have to pay a bit more over here and are usually only available from dedicated Bonsai nurseries. They are available though. |

Thank you Nick, that was the point i was making. I'm not surprised they are available here at specialist bonsai centres, but my query was why they don't seem as readily available outside the bonsai bubble, compared to their availability in the states. |
