I've had one of these for years and don't think they're as hard to keep alive as sometimes suggested, mine gets the following care and seems to do okay.
Watering - The most important part of keeping all bonsai alive and varies from tree to tree, Don's species guide gives a good pointer where it says that they naturally grow in moist woodland. But I don't agree with where it says to allow the soil to nearly dry our between waterings. I keep it on the moist side all the time, if the soil gets even slightly too dry then the leaves will start to go yellow and fall off. With luck new ones will grow back but by keeping the soil moist you'll not get that problem.
Humidity - I've never used a humidity tray with mine and there have been no problems, keeping the soil moist probably helps here.
Location - Outside in the summer if possible, otherwise a windowsill but not in direct sunlight is fine, windowsill in winter. If it gets really cold then move away from the windowsill.
Pruning - To maintain current shape trim new shoots regularly or it can quickly become leggy.
Soil - A mix of free draining (I use cat litter) and water retaining such as peat or similar.
