Ken and Windybank is a great place to start your collection.

Your closest club is Sutton Bonsai. Here is a link to all the clubs, just zoom into your area for details when you click on the nearest dot........... http://swindon-bonsai.co.uk/2013/06/10/ ... societies/

You are really lucky to be so close to a very good club

You won't be able to contact Andy for a while he is on his way to Japan........ Lucky devil :1crybaby:

It's the World Bonsai Convention

Might check out clubs at some point, thanks. Yep, I'm totally spoilt by having windybank so close. Resisting the urge to go back this year as I'm running out of space (don't even want to think what I've spent!)

Welcome Koren,
There are quite a few bonsai addicts in your area. I'm in Merton Park and there are a number of Wee Tree posters in the Sutton and Worcester Park areas.

Ah, handy, just up the road! (I'm Carshalton way, to be more specific) Thanks!

Welcome!

I like the pyracantha and the Berberis Darwinii - both look like quick win rewarding projects.

Thanks! Yep, pretty much. Both picked up in winter sales to satisfy my urge to buy something and have things to practice on. Pyracantha is very much a learning project, I have a second one in the ground to grow out as a longer term project. The berberis I thought the trunk was interesting, but maybe I should have let it grow some more? I need to overcome my impatience! There was a lot of bush to reduce, and not a lot of info on berberis pruning so I've been taking it slow. Hoping it can make a nice mame (pretty much what I'm aiming for for most of my stuff)
