Hi. I'm Rebecca from Winchester in Hampshire, UK.

I've got around a dozen bonsais, almost all deciduous and mainly collected from the wild, rescued from horrible places (clefts in walls, piles of stones etc) where they've optimistically tried to grow. I've been looking after them for ten years or so - inexpertly, I'm afraid. Some of them are very pretty when they're in leaf so I'll post some pics later in the spring once they get going.

I'm really excited to join this forum as I would really value the advice of more experienced growers. I have an urgent query now, and I'll try and find the right section of the forum and post it.

Hello, and thank you for having me.

Hi Rebecca, Welcome to Wee Trees, there are lots of us on the forum looking for advice so you're in good company.

Birch will survive and thrive in the most surprising places. Below is a photo of a 15-20ft Birch growing from a crack between two stone blocks on a bridge.
