Hey all

I think its time i came out from behind the nick and used my real name, well some of it anyway am still a trite paranoid about web information as they say. Most of you know it already mind you ;)

It was debated by Don, Jeremy and myself in the first days as the forum was being set up over whether we asked members politely to use their names rather than usernames. This policy has been adopted across a few bonsai forums already as we tend to be a bit more how shall i put it grown up about things. :32crazy:

I to be honest was not too fussed on it but i do see it from both sides.

Should anyone else fancy a wee name change then just drop me a pm with the new name you want and i will see what i can do for you

regards
John

I've always fancied "Lord Norbury"... :07hysterical:

Seriously, I wish people would use their own names. I find it so "CB radio".

I've been known as Stymie for 68 years. Its not newly assumed so it will stay. I've put Don prominently into my signature though.

Now Don if you can remember that far back how did it come about?
was it to do with ya name?

Put simply, I would not have signed up to weetrees if there had been a strict real names only policy.

Some people prefer real names, some prefer an alias.

Some people like to use the fact that they use a real name to score points over those that use an alias. I MUST STRESS THAT NO ONE HERE HAS DONE OR IS DOING THIS.

Anyway, my username is Treebeard, and I CLAIM that my real name is Chris Guise... but how do you really know?

Ian.

:? ;)

Eh cause Jeremy told us all ::lol:

But then again he might be called ronald macdonald for all we know

Never gonna enforce it on here buddy its just a preference thing if people choose to do so :smallthumb:

i always use the same username for forum websites, if i had to use my real name then chances are i'd forget i'd used it and never be able to sign in again.....

As a student I was thin as a rake, so Lankyshires (I'm from Bolton originally) was my nickname. Having been married for 43 years and retired for six years I have tended to
put on a bit of weight, so Tony would seem to be more appropriate for a man of mature
stature.
