1) Japanese Larch - because they are beautiful, easy to establish and can withstand so much abuse! 2) Western Hemlock because they are free to collect if you know where to look and look great as group plantings! 3)Pinus mugo because it was the first tree I attempted to bonsai |

Here's my three and my favourite tree is a British native: 1, Acer Campestre (Field Maple) 2, Hardy Fushia in variety 3, Prunus incisa "Kojo-no-mai" (Fuji Cherry) |

1-Ginkgo (More for the mystique and the leaves I guess) 2-Pomegranate 3-Japanese white pine, those blue needles are lovely. |

Anything I would struggle to kill But from the information and pictures I would have to go for:- Acer (shin-deshojo as I have one) Junipers Yew ( I have 2 in the ground at the moment not sure what type will post pic’s to hopefully get an ID ) |

1- Diospyros kaki (persimmon) as it infected me with the bug for Bonsai 2- Yew 3- Japanese white pine as mention by others because of the colour of the needles |
