Today should have been the Swindon 'Winter Image' show........... It's going to be missed by many.

As an alternative some of the club members have submitted photographs for you all to enjoy, NOT the same but hopefully next year it will be better.

I had it flown in special.

If it hadn't been so warm indoors I might have been tempted to go out earlier and then there would have been more snow to photograph :132doh: :07hysterical: :07hysterical:

Paul, how tall is that tree and how old is it?

It's 62cm [24 1/2 inches] from the pot rim.

Back in about 1991 I started helping an elderly man who lived on the same estate as me. He was struggling moving his trees around and re potting. His wife was the then Chairman of the Swindon club and eventually they dragged me along.
He gave me this tree around that time, it was starter stock and far too high, he told me to 'See what I can do with it' so the first thing was to cut the top off to a better size. Then a few years to start growing a new top.

I don't have any photos of it from when I was given it, but a poor photo from 1998 to compare it.

It's now in an old Walsall ceramics pot and due for a re pot this year as it's pushing its self up

I like that tree, Paul, and especially the way you have potted it just off centre,
which refines the composition of the whole beautifully. Envy, envy, envy, but tinged
with huge admiration.

Thanks Paul. That is one stunning tree. Mine, which is about the same height, put on a good deal of ramification last year but I need to thicken the bottom branches.
