Escallonia... watch out - too severe a chop to one of those thick sub trunks (not leaving leaves as a sap drawer above) could result in it aborting it completely. This has happened to me before and I'm currently regrowing areas to style. |

Great inspiring read mate, that's a very nice bonsai. Do you think I should give it a year before digging it out? Also is it the right time if I wanted to? |

Hi Jason, Yes best left another year if possible to get some new growth in tight to the chopped trunk. You could look to cut through a big root or two now to aid with back rooting before collection next year. However if you have to lift now you can. Hope this helps. |
