Post subject:  Help with cherry and blueberry?

Hi All, I picked up these two today, do they have potential?

Cherry is a contorted weeping figi and I really like the plant as is, not sure what to do with it next, plant it or pot it and prune?

I really like the lower small trunk of the blueberry, might remove the main trunk if it's safe and plant in a big pot for a few years?

Prunus incisa generally looks really good as a flowering shohin for a few weeks of the year. Wait til the flowers fade this year, then prune heavy (early summer), then prune no more because the flowers are borne on previous years growth.
There are a lot of nice cheap pots out there to turn it into a worthwhile bonsai. Still plenty of time to repot this one.
As they are cheap, I would recommend buying a few more to play with

To me, a fat trunk fails on these trees because they can look very elegant and delicate without the usual put it in the ground and grow it big technique.

My prunus sticks in pots bonsai get a lot of love from friends and family when they see them in flower!

Never seen a good blueberry bonsai, worth a try I suppose!

Let the cherry flower first and enjoy the flowers all over. Once the flowers have gone you could prune back to a v. small tree or IMO let it grow before you do much styling. Same for the blueberry - I'd just let this grow for now.

I've probably only seen one tree posted online by BonsaiEejit that would qualify as a thick trunk - specimen Kojo No Mai trees are very rare as bonsai. The charm is in the flowers and the zig zag branching on more developed trees.

Nice tree ^^ but it's not a blueberry -- it's a Prunus Spinosa (Blackthorn).
