Thanks Gary. As I said, I had high hopes for this one and it seemed to be responding well.

I too have re-read the thread and thought it was starting to come together in 2019. It was also interesting to note comments from members who sadly don't post on here anymore. Their input is missed.

What a pity. It happens - speaking from experience.

Before you destroy that trunk consider whether you would like to try a tanuki one day? Beech wood is quite hard and that has a good root flare. Could be a worthy base for a tanuki.
