NEW Kaizen Bonsai pot on its way!
But what should I do?

I don't think there is any point in disrupting the tree again even though its in its original soil mix and my kitty litter in a temporary planter.
Should I leave well alone until next Spring? (just prune and wire it here and there).
Cometh Spring 2021
What would be the plan for a total re-pot? Get rid of the original soil, tease out the root system, and reduce them slightly. (how much) Then totally re-pot in the standard way with 100% Akadama or Kitty Litter.
If it were your tree what would be the best plan of action?
Thank you for any guidance offered in the above matter
Regards
C

If you can get it into its new pot without disturbing the roots then go for it, then sort the roots out properly next spring just before new growth starts. I wouldn't worry too much about bad soil for now, what matters is that you water appropriately, eg, if water is not draining through you could give it a good soak in a bucket and then wait til it dries out before doing it again.

If the tree starts growing well showing that it's recovered I bit of wire here and there shouldn't be an issue

Some Hermes drivers are completely rubbish. I once bought a large 2 foot round clock that was left at a house about 1 mile away on the other side of the village on the front door step it was there for 2 days before I found out were it was! Fortunately it hade not rained and the clock was fine. I complained but they never got back to me. :120ranting: However I never saw that driver again. I think they fired him! ::lol:

It looked very pot bound . Did you cut off any root to replant it in the cat litter ?
it will love being in the bigger pot to grow new feeder roots . Personally i would leave it in that for this year and reduce the rootball a lot when the tree looks really healthy .
Never found a problem with cat litter . The trees seem to love it .

Yeah, it was pretty much pot bound whilst still managing to look decidedly healthy. I never worked the root ball at all except for just a little teasing out around the perimeter. I didn't want to disturb it too much being more concerned with getting it into some kind of new planting reciprocal, not being ideal, I know, but it will suffice for now. The tree seem healthy enough and I'm keeping an eye on hydration. It seems fine at the moment dropping a few leaves as expected but nothing major.
Only time will tell, I'm pretty optimistic

AND SO IT CONTINUES....Pot has been stuck on their tracker in the same place since last Tuesday. I could have walked and swam the Irish sea in that time for goodness sake. This company is not providing a good enough service and should be called to boot.
I have heard so so many disaster stories now, damaged and lost goods, Its simply not good enough

I still have NO Bonsai pot. I contacted Kaizen and they said that Herpes we experiencing problems with their Bar Codes.
Now to run a business that relies on Bar Codes this is a pretty BIG issue.
So I typed in my bar code into their system once more only to be told this code is not recognized on our system. whereby it had been up until everything went tits up. HOLLY is Herpe's new digital assistant to divert you away from actual making contact with some numptie. It is pre-orchestrated set of questions that lead you round in circles.
This just aint good enough. I have a good mind to report all of this to some higher body for investigation. It's a total shambles.
I'm actually very angry about this. If they can't provide a decent proper service, then get out of the game.
If I'm ordering anything else I will request they send via another body. Even pay extra. What a total mess.

Unfortunately most courier companies are struggling with less staff and higher volume. Your tree is ok in its pot. Sit back, look at sky, listen to the birds, watch your tree grow, look after your other trees, have a g&t as the sun goes down. There are bigger problems in the world and this doesn't need to add to your stress . Hug a tree.
