Hi all

I brought this tree home from a friends back in late 2019, He had passed away and his sister got in touch to tell us (We were a group of six that used to meet up fortnightly) we could come and take his trees..

Unfortunately they weren't in the best of health as they hadn't been watered all through the summer, A couple of mates that lived close to his house offered to water them but he declined and many perished..

The centre of this one completely died and the wood on all the trees had become very brittle due to the constant dehydration, Anyhow, I pulled the branches together slightly to close the gaps somewhat and new growth is coming from way down inside to fill the gaps, I feel pretty sure it will fill out fully this year as it's erupted, Last year it sulked and did very little in the way of growth, I took these pics four or five days ago..

Some of the other acers that were overwintered in the cold greenhouse, Most have already gone outside though..

Love this time of year!!

Lots of potential there and I’m sure they will thrive now that you are giving them the care that they need.

Sorry to hear about your friend.

As Daryl says all good stuff but some won't be if that wood drops anymore :-)
